Do you think that it can’t happen here? Novelist Sinclair Lewis addressed that thinking in his 1930s novel It Can’t Happen Here. An article at the following link gives food for thought about that very attitude today:
Although Lewis’s thinking at the time concerned the aspirations of Louisiana’s U.S. senator and former governor Huey Long, his arguments fit very well the situation in which we find ourselves today.
